The dew point meter is an analytical instrument commonly used in glove boxes, which can be used to measure humidity or dew point in the glove box. The dew point meter is suitable for measuring the dew point temperature of various gases, including air, nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, etc.
Dew point temperature means that when the air temperature drops to that temperature and the water in the air reaches saturation, the water in the air will condense into water droplets. The lower the dew point temperature, the less moisture in the air.
In a glove box, the dew point temperature means that if the temperature inside the glove box drops to that temperature, and when the humidity inside the glove box will reach saturation, the moisture inside the glove box condenses into water droplets. If the dew point temperature inside the glove box is too high, it means that the moisture content inside the glove box is more, which affects the environmental desiccation of the experimental operation.
To keep the high reliability of semiconductor packaging needs to be performed in a relatively dry environment, which also can ensure the packaging quality. When using an inert gas glove box for semiconductor packaging, controlling the dew point temperature inside the glove box can avoid excessive moisture content inside the glove box and thus ensure a dry environment inside the glove box. Air tightness packaging of semiconductor devices at too high dew point temperature will lead to too high water vapor content in the atmosphere inside the closed device. In that case, when the working environment temperature is very low, water droplets may condense inside the device, which will directly lead to the failure of the device and cause damage to the electronic system.
Therefore, the dew point temperature is an important parameter. In general, during the operation of the glove box, it is necessary to control the dew point temperature below-40℃. In today's high-quality semiconductor packaging, long-term accurate and reliable dew point monitoring and control is very necessary.
